Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hardcourt

A comeback the Russian player secured his initial title for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Medvedev, a former world number one, has had a difficult period, winning just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.

Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in especial - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-term trainer Cervara.

Now training with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks his initial title following the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface since spring of the previous year.

Victory also indicates the Russian has won 21 victories at 21 various events.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a title is really nice," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.

The player's counter-punching strategy and recurring reactions on the playing surface had prompted observers to question if his skill to play at the highest level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to come to the net and play assertively, supported by an better serve.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped service breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his initial professional championship, took control to create a third set.

Moutet rescued 4 initial opportunities in a tight final set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured the win with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
